Kelley Engineering was started in 1971 by Walt Kelley in Brookston, Indiana. Brookston is located about 10 miles north of Lafayette, Indiana at the intersection of SR 18 and SR 43. In 2000, Walt and Kevin (Walt's son) partnered to form Kelley Engineering, LLC.
Walt Kelley, the founder, is a graduate of Purdue University in Agricultural Engineering. He started Kelley Engineering in 1971 and the first product line he represented was Chem-Farm® tanks, sprayers, and incorporation kits. Over the years he built his reputation on solving problems and making things work. He also added product lines from time to time in response to the evolution or revolution of farming from the 1970s through the 1990s. Some examples over the last 30 years have been pick-up sprayers, rope-wick booms, pull-type sprayers, hydraulic pumps, foamers, and planter kits.
Harry Javens, our Parts Manager, has been with us for over 20 years. He began as summer help and quickly gained experience and earned responsibility. Today, Harry is an integral part of our operation; he manages most of the day-to-day operations including service calls, spray and NH3 system builds, pump repairs, billing, and parts ordering.
Kevin Kelley, also a graduate of Purdue University in Agricultural Engineering, entered the business in 1999 after working for 3 years at two agricultural-related companies. He is responsible for guidance systems, AgLeader® application systems, system software updates, custom cable solutions, and troubleshooting among other things. Just as Walt added product lines in response to the constant evolution of farming, Kevin has responded by adding Raven® products in 2005, Outback® Guidance products in 2006, and AgLeader® and Trimble® products in 2007.
Today, we use our over 60 years of combined knowledge and experience in the spray, NH3, and guidance businesses to provide our customers with the solutions they want and superior support AFTER the sale. We don't just sell you a bag of goods; we personally use or have experience with everything we sell. That is our competitive advantage.
We look forward to serving you.
